This pretty much highlights how I view about 80% of consumers; most aren’t satisfied unless something is done 100% on their terms. Unfortunately, working in any sort of creative medium does not allow a creator to appeal to the interests of ever possible consumer. Citing the ending of Mass Effect 3 as an example, it bothers me when the self-righteous hostile attitude reaches its boiling point, and creators are forced to abandon their initial creative endeavors and change them in order to sate the demands of the consumer, essentially destroying the integrety of the art and artform. If you don’t like something, don’t bitch about it. Just don’t buy it. It will reach its intended audience.
